Madness in our Intentions

The Madness in Our Intentions

The Madness in Our Intentions by C.J. Landry
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A rollercoater collection of poems from CJ and Aidan which touch on many emotions and various states of mind. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys poetry. Both authors bounce around and seem to touch on many topics in their life from the outwardly obvious to the intimate and personal. It is a very enjoyable read. Even having just finished it I find myself having gone back and re-read several poems to examine them further.

Birth of a Spy – Duncan Swindells

Birth of a Spy

Birth of a Spy by Duncan Swindells

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Really enjoyed the story line. Nazis, spies, old Enigma codes there is a lot here to enjoy. The plot was well defined and the main character was well developed. I did struggle through the first part of the book though. Long descriptions and a lack of dialog made it, at times, difficult to follow. At that point the action picks up and the story moves much better. Overall I would say the plot carried the book and the lack of dialog held it back, especially in the beginning.

If you enjoy spy novels or delving into WWII alternate history then I would certainly recommend. I would read a follow up.

All the Deadly Secrets – Carol Schaal

All The Deadly Secrets

All The Deadly Secrets by Carol Schaal

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A very good read, just finished and did not guess the ending. Story moves along swiftly, maybe at the expense of some character development, but it doesn’t detract from the story. I found myself powering through this book and felt satisfied at the end. Clues were scattered about as well as misleading facts to keep the reader guessing up until the end.

A solid first novel from Carol that I would recommend and I would definitely seek her out again.

Very good reading! I loved the premise, found it very intriguing. In fact I wish it had been fleshed out a little more because of the innovative story line. I did think it could have used an edit for a few typos etc but overall a fast paced and engaging story line thst is an enjoyable read.

I would love to see a sequel. This is an idea that could turn into a great series.

Dark Sentinel – Adam Matlow

Dark Sentinel (Sentinel Series, #1)

Dark Sentinel by Adam Matlow

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A good read. Non-stop action, though it felt at the expense of some character development. I felt at times that I had to double-check which secondary character was who because some seemed to act similar. That aside the plot itself was well thought out and the story was fast paced. Lots of advanced tech. There were twists and turns, especially at the end that I did not expect. I would gladly read a sequel.
